Coronavirus Response
See the Tennessee COVID-19 Tracking
KBA members, business partners, and the legal community have reached out for information about how to handle the threat of coronavirus in the workplace. KBA staff is continuously monitoring authoritative public health and media threads in this ever-evolving landscape and will be pulling in reliable and relevant industry resources into this centralized location for your ongoing reference.
Overall, we intend to continue the highest level of service to our members and the public while also cooperating to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the weeks to come. We will keep monitoring the situation closely and reassessing week by week. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this extraordinary time. Check out the KBA Take Care Tuesday series.
The KBA is closely following the CDC guidelines to reduce the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic in the days and weeks ahead. KBA staff is exploring telecommuting and work-at-home options, along with staggered shifts. Additionally, KBA meetings will be accomplished whenever possible using teleconferencing capabilities instead of holding in-person meetings. By taking these actions, it is our hope that we can continue operating, but in a way that makes it less likely to transmit the virus.
Please check the KBA events calendar for any changes to planned events. Please be assured that our top priority is to maintain a safe environment for our members, staff, and guests.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Supreme Court is permitting attorneys to earn all or any of their required hours for 2021 through distance learning.
We remind all program and event attendees to adhere to best practices for preventing the spread of respiratory illnesses, including those provided by the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.html) and others, such as the following:
- If you are feeling under the weather, please use your discretion when deciding to attend.
- Wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Consider not shaking hands, hugging or kissing cheeks upon meeting.
Please do not attend any event if you or a family member or close friend has been in contact with anyone who has traveled to China, Japan, Iran, South Korea or Italy in the past month.
