Knoxville Court and Community Resources Quick Access
Court Directory
The Knoxville Bar Association created the Court Directory to provide current information about the bench in Knoxville in one convenient location. You will find links to each court website and the local rules for each court. Our intent is also to respond to the judiciary's desire to have accurate information disseminated about how judges expect matters to be conducted in their individual courts, their expectations of the lawyers who appear before them as well as their general views about various aspects of trial practice.
Judicial Profiles
The KBA Judicial Committee requests that the judges annually update their Judicial Profiles. Although the court directory is available for public access, you must be logged in as a KBA member to view the individual Judicial Profiles. Judges have been asked to include biographical information and preferences regarding conduct and practice in their respective courts.
Local Rules
Have access to local rules of Tennessee and stay current on any proposed changes that are under consideration by the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Fair & Impartial Courts
Members of the KBA Judicial Committee have created a presentation that any lawyer or judge may use when invited to give a presentation to a local civic or school group. The topic is “Fair and Impartial Courts,” including an explanation of how judges are appointed and the role of courts in our society at both the state and federal levels. The presentation includes a PowerPoint, a loose script and links to background information. It can be tailored to suit the audience and length of a presentation.
