The CLE Program "Ride into the Danger Zone: Immigration Law Update" will be presented as a Webinar presentation on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 12 - 1 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). The program has been approved for one hour of general "distance learning" CLE credit.
Rev up your engine, listen to her howlin’ roar,” and spend an hour learning about the latest developments in one of the most fluid areas of the law: immigration. We will explore Title 42 (it’s not just for social security), the new meaning of “parole,” and how the U.S. has been addressing the increasing number of individuals who are seeking admission into the U.S. due to events in Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Central and South America. We will also talk about what businesses are doing to ease the U.S. labor shortage by sponsoring and hiring international workers and some changes to the work visa process. It will be a wild ride into the Danger Zone.
Speaker: Melissa B. Carrasco, Egerton, McAfee, Armistead & Davis, P.C
ZOOM MEETING INSTRUCTIONS
1. You can join this meeting with almost any device. For mobile devices, find the Zoom Meetings on the App Store or Google Play Store and pre-install. For a desktop or laptop computer, the link to pre-install is: https://zoom.us/download. Once installed, I encourage you to go ahead and click the meeting link above NOW and join the meeting to test it out, make sure everything is working properly, and get familiar with the interface. You can then leave the meeting and then re-join again at the appointed meeting time. Absent a computer or mobile device, you can just join with a telephone call (audio only), but the best meeting experience by far is to use a computer or iPad, so you can see others and what is being presented.
2. For computer/mobile device connection: If you don’t already have the Meetings app installed, you will be prompted to do a quick installation when you click the meeting link. Once installed, you don’t need to “sign in” or “create an account”, you just need to join the meeting. Only the host of a meeting has to have an account. Once you join with your computer, you will be asked if you want to use the computer audio or dial in by telephone for your audio. You can use computer audio if you have a headset or are on a mobile device or laptop with camera/mic – webcams are encouraged; otherwise, dial in via telephone for your audio, following the on-screen instructions.
3. If you encounter any technical difficulties at all during the meeting, and it is persistent, sometimes it is best just to leave the meeting and then rejoin it. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions as a result of the test above, just contact me well before the meeting so that we can resolve.
