Past Presidents of the Knoxville Bar Association
The lofty standards and achievements of so many members of the Knoxville Bar Association are a continuing source of pride and inspiration to us all. Records are unclear as to when lawyers first united together to form the Knoxville Bar Association. Resolutions in memory of departed lawyers adopted by the Knoxville Bar Association have been found in the records of the Knox County Chancery Court dating as early as 1895. Other such resolutions provide that C. W. Key was Secretary of the KBA in 1930, and the famous and renowned trial lawyer, Ray H. Jenkins, was President of the Knox County Bar Association in 1944. Based upon records in the Association's offices, we know for certain that the Association organized events as early as 1948. Well-respected lawyer Clyde Key was the President in 1948.
